October Update

SSTR6 Results
As the big boys stayed away due to post ITU recovery and preparation for other bigger races it gave other club members a chance to shine and brought some new winners. Alan Torringino stormed out of the water in the first race and never looked back as he put time into the rest of the field on the bike and finished the run comfortably ahead of second place. Opting to sit the second race out, Boomer was first in on the bike but couldn’t hold off a late challenge from Tim Robinson getting caught in the final stretch home on the run. Alan decided to do the third race and took honours again. Good racing with coffee and muffins, what better way to start your weekend. Results below.

Sumer Series League Table
The 2012 SSTR League Table Results have now been finalised. We took the fastest 12 heats from the 6 Race, 18 Heat series to compile our final standings.
Only 6 people completed at least 12 Heats over the 6 month long season, despite having over 70 different people attending the series!!
It was another great Summer Series season and the table revealed that everyone was making progress which is great to see. But above all, we all had a tremendous amount of fun. Not only are they a once-a-month hit out for you, to see if your training is paying off, it’s also great to see everyone again, race in a competitive but still friendly atmosphere and of course share a coffee and a muffin afterwards.

As always, a huge thanks to all of you who participate, you are all the life and soul of the club, without each of you the Dragons would not exist.
Another big thanks goes out to everyone who has supported the Summer Series this year with helping to time keep, marshal or even bake the cookies – appreciated by one and all.
Amazing that another year is drawing to a close with only one Dragons Tri race left and that is the longer pre-Phuket race on 10-November, so keep any eye open for the registration email.

So, our congratulations go to the below 6 names and we will come up with prizes for the top 3 - to be announced at our end of year Christmas do on 15-Dec.
And well done again to everyone who raced this season.

Dragons 48km TTT Saturday 27-Oct
Another event which has come around rather quickly is this second instalment of the Team Time Trial.

Please, please, please – let us know if you are racing so we can plan properly for this.
Usual TTT format applies: Teams of 4, stopwatch stops when last person is across the line (so race as a team!!).
Meet in Disney Hotel Car park, race start at 06:40am, with slowest teams going first at 30sec intervals

Phuket 25-Nov
If you haven’t already – please let us know if you are going. We always arrange some pre race swim/ride/runs/coffee etc – plus post race lunch and the usual ‘Drunken Dragons’ table at the post race banquet. So please drop us a line if you are going, and if you need Banquet tickets (and how many) which we can get on your behalf (you can pay us back later).

Mark the Diary!!
We will be having some sort of Drunken Soiree on Saturday 15-Dec with our friends the SIR’s.
