With the aid of Brucey Baby’s fab new iPad app, which worked a dream (thanks BB) – I have been able to quickly get the weekends results out to you without sitting tireless at my laptop for 2 hours manually putting in all the split times one by one. The Dragons have finally entered the technology revolution!!!
So after a disastrous week of weather, and some frantic emails at 5am on Saturday morning, and after an early downpour, by 6am, the rain had stopped, the cloud base was high and the winds were gone!!  And once again, seemingly against the weatherman’s predictions, we had good race weather down in Shek-O for the brave 12 that turned up.
Admittedly, the sea was a little ‘choppy’ – but didn’t have the crashing waves we’ve seen before that makes existing the swim a challenge (and occasionally dangerous).
So a great mornings racing ensued, with only 3 of the 12 completing all 3 heats.
We had two newbies on the day (Steve and Mark) – on behalf of all of us at the Dragons, a warm welcome and we hoped you enjoyed the mornings racing and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Another surprise of the morning was the appearance of NiMO (aka Nina) another new member, who was sadly a little unwell and couldn’t race – but that didn’t stop her from getting up early and baking the most gorgeous banana cake, which was quickly polished off after the race and washed down with several cups of coffee. Top marks NiMO.
And then it was off to Lulu’s to meet up with John Pies and Rip Snorta Gorta who was having his 21st birthday….again !!!
So after a loud rendition of Happy Birthday in Lulu’s, much jovial banter was had over toast and even more coffee.
From me, thanks to everyone who turned out to race.
To the rest of the registered entries who stayed in bed…..slackeeeeeeers!!!
