Singapore 70.3

A huge congrats to all Dragons who participated in the grueling Singapore 70.3, I myself was there and again it was a hugely successful and well organized event. We thought it was going to be a wet race as Thunderstorms were forecast, but by about 4pm on Saturday afternoon, the sky had cleared and everything dried up.

The swim course was slightly different this year, where we started on the inside of the anti-clockwise loop, which was marked out as a not wide enough lane, which again meant crowds over the first 600 meters or so, with the second loop, after a run around the beach was on the outside.
The bike was the same course and not as flat as everyone constantly thinks with 2 large fly-overs to be tackled, meaning you got 2 climbs out and 2 climbs back, on the 3 loop 90km course. With 1,396 competitors it was bit of a draft fest again. But the temperature was cooler with the sun being hidden by some overcast, luckily for us though, the cloud cleared up just as we hit T2, joy, it was going to be a hot 21.1km run along the East Coast Parkway. The run course had changed slightly from last year, I think to combat the negative effect last year of running past the finish line on your final lap, but still having about 6km to go - soul destroying. This year, then run course changed so that as you came past the Finish Line on your last lap you only had about 1.5km to go, was much better, but didn't make me any faster :)
