ITT – Race 2

posted 21 Sep 2010, 18:39 by HK Dragons Triathlon Club

Our second annual ITT Race saw an even bigger turn out of riders, amongst them the defending Yellow Jersey holders Matt Holland and Kate Rutherford.

Conditions were good, zero wind, which is rare over in Disney, although slightly hotter than our first race there.

We set out in reverse order, with the slower riders going first and then the likes of Mike Maiers, Olivier Baillet, Mark Weis and Matt Holland going last, so they could charge down the field.

The attached spreadsheet shows all your times, as well as those from race 1 – and it looks like everyone has put in a lot of effort over the last few months as many of us had shaved several minutes off our previous PB’s. We also had several new faces over there which is always nice to see, and we hope you enjoyed your first race with the Dragons.

So final outcome, Mark Weis took the Men’s yellow jersey in a fairly tight finish between the top 4 riders. Matt Holland fiercely defended producing a blistering time of 1:15, taking 4mins off his previous winning time – but alas, it was not enough this time round. Kate Rutherford relinquished her yellow Jersey to a formidable Laura who, as always, was in great shape and going great guns.

Finally – the TTT is on 2-Oct so get your teams sorted.
