Dragons & Kiddies Race 13-Nov

Aim to be at Shek-O beach for 6am to get all your kit set up and so we can do a race brief before our target 6:30am race start. The course, as advised, is a long course, which is mandatory for those competing in the “Team” event against the Tritons. But we also want everyone to participate to their ability, so the brief will also point out the options for making the course shorter and more manageable to perhaps our new comers. Remember, it's all about participation and having fun.

One point to note is that the Chinese Opera House is being built in Shek-O carpark, so whilst this won't restrict us on transition, it limits parking, so you may need to park at Big Wave Bay and then ride the 2km into Shek-O.

Also, Mike Rice from Neil Pryde Bikes will have 4 Bikes available to borrow for the race (details below), so if you want to give one of these fantastic machines a blitz, get there early as it’s a first come first served basis. Mike is offering us Dragons some very attractive discounts, so before you spend your hard earned cash on the usual suspects of Road and TT bikes, give these babies a burn and see what you think.

The Kids race will start after the Adult race and we estimate the start time at about 08:45-09:00am. We suspect we’ll have 2 age groups, under 6 and over 6. The swim will be enough to get them wet and will be heavily marshaled by the adults. The kids will then run up the beach to T1 get into Trainers and helmets (Safety first!!!) for the Scooter section which will be a couple of laps of Shek-O promenade. Then into T2, dump the scooters and helmets, before doing the run leg which will be another couple of loops of the promenade.
