First Summer Series Tri for 2019 a warm one

posted 17 May 2019, 23:22 by HK Dragons Triathlon Club
There were no complaints about having to get into the water for the first Tri of the season this morning. It was beautiful! Crystal clear and a refreshing temperature. The swimmers in the group like Ryan Kemp, Scott Burton and Adrian Lydiard were really enjoying the morning in the water. Unfortunately, conditions out on the road were not quite as pleasant with a high humidity and a warm sun breaking through a cloudy sky making the ride and run a sweaty affair.
In spite of this there was the usual friendly competitive spirit on display on the course this morning and some good challenges between Ryan Kemp and Steve Bemet at the front and many in the mid-field. Some great first up performances by Ally Maclay and Antoine Chenevie and great to see the ladies putting in some good performances! Shout out to Amie Shuttleworth and Sam Holyoake.
Finally, no report would be complete without highlighting the brilliant effort put in by Ian Brownlee who is a bit like the Energiser Bunny - he just keeps going and going. A long serving Dragon who is a great inspiration to us all!
