Saturday's first Dragons Individual Time Trial proved to be super competitive for hardy group that braved hot and very humid conditions in the always unforgiving 48km pancake flat Disney time trial.

With a headwind on the way out and debilitating heat throughout this was not a race for the fainthearted. In the end, still fresh from his Tour of Friendship victory, Clinton Leong, in full TT rig with aero helmet and the whole works obliterated the competition of at least seven other riders, posting a blistering time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 44 seconds, giving an average speed of 38.03km/h! Florian Schneider, also on his TT, came in a creditable 2nd place in 1 hour 23 minutes and 32 seconds with Paul 'Boomer' McMahon coming in 3rd, and the first roadie home in 1 hour 27 minutes and 32 seconds.

There were other incidents of the road. Nick Adamus, current leader of the Dragons King of the Mountains competition, proved you can have too much power and managed to tear his crank from his bottom bracket and Pat Gorta, our resident Ironman, gallantly stopped for fellow competitor Gilles Normand, who suffered a puncture. Gilles went on to finish the race, while Pat for whom it is always all or nothing, pulled out.
