Our Club

About the HK Dragons

The Dragons Triathlon Club exists primarily for athletes who would like to come together and race in a spirit of friendly competition in Hong Kong, from beginner to pro.


The Dragons has a very broad spread of members from Kona qualifiying champions and committed triathletes, to members who just like to swim, ride and run independently - or only do duathlons or aquathons. We welcome serious athletes as well as the complete novice looking for a different way to exercise, a bit of a social or just for the casual fun of it all.

We are a club run by members for the members - and are completely volunteer based. We do it for the love of the sport and the cameraderie of the club.


Races & Events We Hold

The Dragons host around 12 races per year, mainly around HK Island, for its members. 

Winter Racing - During Jan/Feb/Mar we hold a variety of races from the Harden Winter South Bay Race to Duathlons (Run/Bike/Run)

Summer Series - During Summer the Dragons hold six Summer races at Shek O consisting of 3 x super sprints (300m swim, 8km bike, 2km run)

Individual Time Trial - A classic race against the clock, these are held when possible around the other races and usually twice a year.

Team Time Trial - As with the ITT, these races are held a couple of times a year.

Dragons Tour - Each year we look to hold a three or four day bike tour somewhere in Asia. In 2012 we journeyed to Chiang Mai, Thailand, the year before was Taiwan; in 2013 & 2014 we were back in Taiwan

70.3 & Olympic Races - At almost every race around Asia you'll find some Dragons. At the more popular races, Phuket Triathlon, Taiwan 70.3 we can get upward of 50 club members.

Social Events - From post Summer Series race bbq's & beers to the annual Christmas party we are a social club.

The club offers regular weekly riding and running options and also supports members by directing them to other existing options for training and learning more about the sport in Hong Kong.


We also encourage our members to form their own localized training groups for running, swimming and cycling. Check the forum / discussion to see where and when people are training this week.
