Jan Update Print E-mail

ImageSitting here in cold old London, it is a bit hard to get too enthused about pulling on the runners or the bike jersey but I know a lot of you are very hard at work, concentrating on forthcoming events. To this end, here are some notes that have arrived on my email:

Training with IHP started on Tuesday and is now in full swing. Here is this week's calendar:

Tuesday 8th - Sat 12th January 2008

Tuesday       8:00 - 9:00 pm Endurance Swimming at South Island School

Wednesday  7:30 - 8:45 pm Interval & Speed Run at IHP Track

Thursday     8:00 - 9:00 pm Technique Swimming at South Island School

Saturday      8:00 - 10:00 am Run/Swim/Core Session at Repulse Bay Beach.

For details of membership and other training alternatives, refer to the website here

We are still planning our winter series, the first of these is to take place on Feb 10th. More details soon.

Kent Wong of Trisports HK has been in touch to inform us that the 2008 Guangzhou Asian Championship will be rescheduled from the 4th to 6th of April (Subject to final confirmation) due to clash with the Guangzhou trade exhibition.

So you can race both the 70.3 China and Asian Champs if you are so inclined!

Also he will co-ordinate with HKTriA to provide direct coaches from HK to Guangzhou for all age groupers. More about this as it comes to hand.

For those of you who may interested in the Bintan race later this year there is an early bird promotion ending on January 15th. Go to http://www.bintantriathlon.com/ for details and registration.

Finally, we are desperately seeking some more HK based Triathletes or keen supporters to put their hands up for a place on the Committee. We are calling a meeting on either Sat 19th or Sun 20th of January (TBC) and would love some people to come along and take on some jobs for the 2008 season. If you are interested, please reply to this email and we will send some details.

Regards

Paul
