Congratulations to all Dragons who competed in Phuket. You have all once again done us very proud with your fantastic efforts. Rather than list the individual results here and run the risk of leaving out members, I would like to urge all Dragons to visit http://www.tri247.com/results_4856.html to check out the results for yourselves. One thing to be aware of is that most of the expats race as their home nation in Phuket so it is a bit hard to find the HK Dragons in the list.
OK onto the important part of the newsletter!
Your committee have been busy investigating a venue fitting to cap of a great season of racing and training together. After a lot of investigation, we have found a great venue at the Victoria Recreation Club (VRC), Island Road, Deep Water Bay. This venue is going to allow for easy transportation to and from, flexibility for food and drink consumption and an area where we can be on our own and not sharing with others.
We are going to have a BBQ meal with salads etc. and drinks will be available for purchase at very reasonable prices. The cost will depend upon the numbers but it will not be expensive, probably around the $100 mark.
The catch is that we need a firm commitment from members before we go ahead and pay the deposit on the venue and caterers. For this reason we need you to act NOW!
Look in your diaries and check your availability for Saturday, December 15th from 7-10pm. If there is nothing there do two things:
Put the Dragons Christmas Party in the time slot now and lock it in.
Send an email to m make sure that you indicate how many you are bringing along.
You must do this right away or we will not have a hope of organising this. Certainly, ensure that you have notified us by Friday of this week at the latest so that we have some hope of securing this great venue and seeing the season out in the most fitting way.
