Dear cyclist

In November, you may have joined us for the 1st Waterfront Bike Ride. More than 100 cyclists rode together to urge the government to create a cycle path along the Hong Kong island waterfront, from Western to Eastern. (Photos from that event here.) As well as revealing our hidden jewel, the harbour, the proposed cycle path would provide safe, convenient access for leisure riders, commuters and tourists to many locations.

Now we need to carry this message forward. On Sunday, 6th April, there will be a 2nd Waterfront Bike Ride for a Pollution-Free Hong Kong, from Kennedy Town to Shau Kei Wan, keeping as close as possible to the shoreline (which isn't always very close), and culminating in the delivery of a detailed letter in support of the cycle path proposal to the the Planning Department back in North Point.

Please join this event and ask your members and all the cyclists you know to come along too. If you are a member of a cycling forum - post it there!

Meet at 10.00am at Cadogan Street Temporary Garden, Kennedy Town, 6 April.
There will be a short stop for lunch at HK Convention Centre. (Food not provided) Riders may also join the ride here (meet at Golden Bauhinia at 11.45am)
This event is supported by Hong Kong Cyclist Information Net and the Hong Kong Cycling Alliance.

For more about this important event, see Facebook (search on "waterfront bike ride") or contact me.

Thank you for your support.
