Is it possible to train/preapre for the Singapore half iron man in just six weeks....this would be a first triathlon....

Jane - depends on your training background. If you have a running (marathon or 1/2) or other discipline background then sure. If you are starting from scratch then you might find it tough... if you are mentally and physically strong then go for it. This will be my first 1/2 as well and I think I will end up walking most of the run but if your goal is just to finish then go for it! Tash

As the saying goes, nothing's impossible. And I think Tash is right...all depends on your expectations and/or whether you're willing to walk (or limp) a bit.
If you decide to go for it, you should get this book: "Triathlon Training in Four Hours a Week - From Beginner to Finish Line in Just Six Weeks" (Eric Harr).
Check some of the libraries...I have it on loan right now from the central library.
