Coming to HKG from Canada in beginning of August for two weeks before heading up to Beijing to watch my friends compete.

I'm going to stay at my relatives in Whampoa Garden by the boat...anyone has any recommendations for running routes or track around the area?

I tried map my run but it didn't really give me much to work out.

Hi CanTri,

Your options around Whampoa Gardens are very limited. There are no paths around the Harbour that you can run on.

Fortunately it is very easy to get around Hong Kong and people are very accepting of people jumping on the bus/MTR/Taxi in sweaty running gear. I would recommend that you get on the East rail line out to Tai Wai and run around the Shun Mun river. It is flat and there is a path on each side.
If you like the hills, you can knock yourself out on the trails around Hong Kong.
You can get some more information on the AVOHK site http://www.avohk.org/ or the HK Runners magazine site, http://www.hk-runner.com/

Good luck.

Paul
